Day of Action

Char-Em United Way will create meaningful activities centered on early childhood education by sending volunteer readers into preschools, daycares and libraries. The theme of the event will be literacy and children will receive a literacy kit to take home with them so that they can continue to learn throughout the summer. This year’s sites are Early Learners of Boyne City, Stepping Stones CDC, and the Children’s Learning Center in Petoskey. Some public libraries will also be hosting events which will all be open to the public, so bring your young children to join in the fun! Volunteers will be reading at Petoskey Library at 3pm, Alanson Library at 10:30am, Boyne District Library at 11am, and Harbor Springs Library at 11:30am.
